Raj (Bobby Deol), Yogi (Suniel Shetty) and Vikram (Irrfan Khan) - best friends, business partners, serial womanizers and happily married! Happy, because their lovely wives have no clue that their husbands cheat on them with every pretty young thing they can lay their eyes on. This picture perfect world is rocked when Raj's wife, Sanjana (Sonam Kapoor) begins to suspect her husband and hires the suave private detective, Kishan (Akshay Kumar), to tail him. Kishan has built his reputation as a man who saves marriages by getting erring husbands to mend their ways, and is also an expert in playing the flute. In this particular case, however, his overwhelming attraction towards Sanjana means he may not be acting in her best interest!

lways Kabhi Kabhi focuses on 4 students and their struggle through their final year at St Mark's School. First teenager, Shortcut Sam (Ali Fazal); the cool guy, who falls in love with Aishwarya (Giselli Monteiro). Aishwarya is a new student who befriends Sam on her first day, and the two fall in love first sight. The next two friends, Tariq (Satyajeet Dubey) and Nandy (Zoa Morani), who love to fight and argue with eachother, though the two never realize they are actually in love. The story then moves onto Sam mostly, who throws a party at strip-club "Hell Fire", which is later raided and Sam is arrested. Two police inspectors record Sam holding drugs, though the drugs actually belonged to the police, and were trying to blackmail Sam into paying them 50,000 rupees. Not just this, the St. Mark's School starts a Shakespearewallah play, and Sam gets the lead role as "Romeo". Sam gets fed up with all this tension, and starts to argue with Aishwarya. She starts crying and runs out, though when Sam chases after her, he reveals a shock only to find that Aishwarya has been hit by a car. He takes her to the hospital with Tariq and Nandy, and she falls into coma. The three friends then participate in their school play, though after they realize what going to school has done to their miserable lives, instead of performing classic Romeo and Juliet, the three and the rest of their friends perform their own frequencey, by the song "Antenna". After the song, the teachers let them win the Shakespearewallah competition, Tariq and Nandy finally realize that they're in love, and Aishwarya recovers and decides to marry Sam, as she truly loves him.

The story is set in Goa, home to one of the most accomplished magicians of the time - Ethan Mascarenhas (Hrithik Roshan). As fate would have had it, Ethan is severely injured when his former best friend Yaseer Siddiqui (Ash Chandler), who was also a magician betrays him by ruining one of his dangerous magic trick, causing him to become quadriplegic. Now a wheelchair-user, Ethan's willpower only gets stronger and stronger. He becomes the Radio Jockey of an FM Station called Radio Zindagi. His show spreads magic and hope and laughter through his irrepressible wit and humor to every listener and caller, making it difficult to imagine that this is a man who has been living with a spinal injury for the last fourteen years of his life. Sofia D'Souza (Aishwarya Rai) , is his elegant nurse who has been accompanying him like a shadow for the past twelve years, leaving her domineering husband. Ethan and Sofia share a beautiful bond of love.

Abhay Gulati (Imran Khan) and Aaliya Khan (Deepika Padukone) have been friends since childhood. Aaliya has always loved acting, since her mother is an actor. Her father left her and her mother. Abhay likes cooking but his father wants him to take care of his business. Eventually Abhay and Aaliya start dating but Aaliya does not want to marry. An opportunity comes for Aaliya to go to Australia for acting school which she takes. She goes to Australia where she has to live with her strict aunt. She then moves into a bungalow where a bunch of young people live for cheap. Abhay gets paranoid and comes to Australia, annoying Aaliya because she feels he doesn't trust her and they break up. Abhay opens a restaurant and it becomes a big hit. Aaliya and Abhay slowly become friends again. Aaliya finishes acting school and Abhay's father finds out about his restaurant. Abhay and Aaliya's mother, Ayesha (Sharmila Tagore) come for Aaliya's graduation. Aaliya gets an opportunity to work in a movie and signs the contract without telling her mother, thereby enraging her. Soon Abhay leaves Aaliya too, because she is selfish. Realizing she loves him, she quits the movie and rushes to the airport, as she hears from her friend that Abhay is going to be married. Puzzled as to why he didn't tell her first about the news, Aaliya rushes to Abhay's house and finds him getting ready to get married. Aaliya begs him to re-think his decision, proposing to him with the very ring he was considering for her once upon a time. She confesses her love to him and tells him that she is really in love with him. Abhay, realizing Aaliya's regret and love for him, shows her his wedding invitation which has her name, implying he intended to marry her all along. She is happy and they embrace, making up. The end credits show that the two have married, and have a baby girl named Sara.
